Meet The Team

NAME: Samuel Haft

Writer, Director, Producer, EP

The founder and president of BDM, Sam formed the company in 2014 to live in the intersection of a production company and a creative agency - using the branding side of the business to finance development of IP on the production side of the business. A wearer of many hats, Sam’s work has been met with recognition in the fields of producing, writing, comedy, directing, and music.

PET PROJECT: Sonic Strike!, a PG-13 musical action cartoon show, looking for producing partner.

NAME: Dean Preston

Writer, Producer, Copywriter

A classically trained playwright, Dean Preston’s plays have been staged between New York, LA, and London since he was just 16 years old. Dean is also a veteran of the advertising world: working as a writer and producer at The Field [Social]. He was a resident playwright at Abingdon Theatre Company, where he also taught. Dean also writes for cartoon studio Tomorrow’s Nobody.

PET PROJECT: Everything Is Terrible, a cold war comedy feature with talent attached.

NAME: Tommy Kang

Writer, Performer, Producer

The stand-out star of one of Bad Duck Media’s first pilots, Tommy Kang is a comedian, actor, and martial arts master. When Tommy brought his autobiographical action comedy, Taking A Hit, to Bad Duck Media, the rest was history. Tommy has appeared on HBO’s Divorce, performed stand-up at SXSW, and donned facial prosthetics for acclaimed sketch project True Detective Pikachu.

PET PROJECT: Taking A Hit, a pilot being adapted into a feature, for which he won festival awards.

NAME: David Wall

Writer, Producer, Line Producer

Peruvian-American writer David Wall came to Bad Duck Media via our award-winning pilot Taking A Hit, which he co-wrote. An experienced producer, Dave spent most of his career at Sockeye Media, where he was a producer on Mother Goose Club, and the lead producer/writer of its Spanish language version. David is a graduate of Fordham in NYC, and happens to be a terrific chef.

PET PROJECT: Mundial, a Spanish language soccer blockbuster seeking Latin American producer.
